iPhone 5 rumours imply further overhaul to design and specs

Apple is working on the iPhone 5 and now, several months before its suspected summer launch, several sources are providing rumours as to the significant changes which are apparently going to be made for the next generation, after the already revolutionary iPhone 4.
The current rumour mill has produced a few tasty morsels of information, the most significant of which is arguably that Apple will be providing the iPhone 5 with a dual core processor, so that it can keep up with powerful Android handsets like the upcoming LG Optimus 2X and Motorola Xoom.
Engadget has been given information which it believes to be from a good source, which suggests the new CPU will be based on ARM chip architecture and will be part of the A5 processor family that is likely to end up in the iPad 2, as well as the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5 using a multicore processor is about more than just keeping score with rivals, as it will also lead to a more efficient use of the available battery life, which users will definitely enjoy.
The iPhone 4 was a distinct departure from the first three generations of the handset range in terms of aesthetic design, but it looks like Apple is going to start from scratch for the iPhone 5. Since this is a firm know for its stunning gadgets, anything it comes up with is sure to capture the consumers' imaginations.
The next few months are likely to be rife with similar rumours and although it is unlikely that last year's iPhone 4 leak, which saw a tech site get taken to court, will be repeated. It would be good for mobile lovers to get a sneak peak of this exciting new hardware.
