Vodafone leak reveals glut of new handsets

A screenshot revealing the inventory of Vodafone's German operation has come up with some interesting details about the smartphone which the network will be stocking in the coming months.
Chief among the points of interest for mobile fans is the inclusion of the HTC Desire 2 among the roster of high end devices and, after images of an unnamed HTC handset emerged last week, this seems like final confirmation that it is inbound.
LG also has a number of devices revealed in the list, including the Optimus 3D tablet and the LG Optimus Speed. Most significant amongst LG's revelations is that a new device called the Star Tab is named, although nothing is known about it as it has remained out of the spotlight until this leak.
Mobile World Congress (MWC) is taking place in Barcelona in a few days and all of the major manufacturers will be unveiling new handsets and devices as a result. This list is largely being seen as good news by UK sources, since it comes from Germany and essentially confirms that Vodafone has secured these handsets and tablets for the European market.
With the trickle of information eventually turning into a torrent once MWC kicks off, there will be plenty of new handsets floating about on the market to tempt consumers into ditching their old mobiles and securing a cutting edge device.
This in turn will result in a surplus of outdated but perfectly operational handsets, which many will consign to a drawer or, worse still, send straight to landfill. Hopefully, the increasing awareness of mobile recycling will make sure that more people are able to unlock the cash which is still tied into old phones and getting this extra injection of funds can help offset the cost of exciting new mobiles.
