UK mobile recycling firm goes continental

A recycling company which handles large volumes of used mobile handsets for network provider O2, has announced that it will be moving into the Slovakian market.
The firm in question is Redeem Ltd, which recycles old mobile devices, to either refurbish and resell them or to harvest their components for recycling.
Now its partnership with O2 will be extended to Slovakia, where customers will be able to trade in their old handsets to get money off at any of the network provider's outlets in the country.
The system of recycling will work identically to its UK equivalent, with the value of the handset determined by the current market and this amount then passed onto the owner in the form of store credit.
The customer will not be limited to spending their credit on a new mobile phone, although this is obviously an option. They might also want to get accessories for existing handsets with the value that they have recouped from an old, unwanted device.
Those who have more than one old phone which they want to recycle, will be able to use multiple credit notes against the purchase of a new handset, which will make it a convenient way to save money. In addition, it will even be possible to use other special offers in conjunction with the vouchers, at least if you are based in Slovakia.
The old phones which are recycled via the scheme will also be available as part of a buy back package, where customers can invest in refurbished phones and get a high end handset at a cut price.
It is good to see a UK mobile recycling company extending its reach and also to see more and more nations getting involved in this greener way of doing things.
