Three UK bags Samsung Galaxy S II Mini

A leak has shown that UK network provider Three is getting hold of the Samsung Galaxy S II, a handset which had previously been kept under lock and key but now looks like a certainty.
A leak secured by Engadget, has pulled back the curtains on the entire line up of Three's launch schedule over the next few months and despite the mini suffix, the new Samsung handset looks to be one serious contender in the smartphone market.
The Galaxy S II Mini will apparently sport a 3.7 inch touchscreen display and a 1.4GHz processor, which will allow it to be considerably more powerful than last year's original Galaxy S. It will also offer HSPA+ connectivity which will allow for download speeds of a theoretical 21Mbps maximum.
As well as revealing the Galaxy S II Mini, the leak shows that Three has managed to bag the Nokia X7 when it arrives in the UK. This Symbian 3-based smartphone is set to offer an eight megapixel camera and a large display, existing as a media-centric alternative to the Nokia N8, when it launches in June 2011.
At the top end of the market the LG Optimus 3D is pencilled in for a UK launch on Three's network, which means there will be at least one dual core Android smartphone available for its customers this spring.
Three is expanding its range of tablets, with the HTC Flyer bringing its seven inch Android-based beauty to the network, followed shortly by the BlackBerry Playbook, although the model secured by the network is apparently going to only support Wi-Fi connectivity and not 3G, when it arrives in June.
Such an extensive and seemingly authentic leak paints an exciting picture for the coming months, although Three is likely to be vexed that its plans were revealed before it could make an official announcement.
