Smartphone Peripheral Maker Eliminates Single-Use Plastics and Embraces Recyclability

Juice is one of the leading brands in the mobile accessory space, so it is reassuring to hear that it has just announced a significant move towards sustainability in terms of the way that its products are packaged.
Rather than relying on plastic containers to protect its offerings from damage in transit to customers, it will be switching to the use of packaging that is not only free from single-use plastics but also produced with recycled waste in the first place.
Packaging News reports that while the packaging of Juice products will still be plastic, it will be 100 per cent recyclable and customers will simply be able to pop it directly into their recycling bins for kerbside collection by councils across the country.
Company spokesperson Jolyon Bennett pointed out that no other mobile accessory manufacturer has taken this eco-friendly decision yet, making Juice a boundary-breaker in its segment.
In addition to revealing its sustainable packaging initiative, Juice also launched a new range of phone cases which are fully compostable. Because they are made from organic materials they can be disposed of by customers when the time comes to sell their old phones and upgrade without worrying about the impact that the case has on the ecosystem.
A number of natural ingredients go into making the cases, and once composted they will be entirely broken down within a year, easing the ethical strain that accessory ownership can put on consumers who regularly switch to a new device at the end of a contract.
Hopefully this series of sustainable steps taken by Juice will inspire its competitors to step up and become more eco-friendly. This is not just good for the planet but also appeals to consumers who are becoming more conscious of their responsibilities.
