September 5th launch date confirmed for new Nokia smartphones

Finnish mobile manufacturer, Nokia, is set to reveal at least one new smartphone on the 5th of September, with a new teaser video posted by the firm on YouTube alluding to the major changes that will come with this launch event.
It is widely expected that Nokia will be giving the world its first glimpse of its new Windows Phone 8 handsets next month and the video implies that one thing which the new devices will focus on is camera fidelity.
Nokia has become well known for its photographically advanced smartphones and there have long been rumours about the arrival of a Windows-based PureView handset, which could posses a snapper with a 41 megapixel resolution, just like its Symbian-based sibling.
It has also become one of the key partners for Microsoft's evolving Windows Phone platform and with the new iteration set to launch this autumn, it is expected to have a number of devices to showcase, tackling different areas of the market.
Fans of Windows Phone will be hoping that Nokia is able to step up to the mark and offer consumers something that is competitive with the most powerful Android-based alternatives out there at the moment, like the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Windows Phone 8 will for the first time, allow multi-core processors to run with a Microsoft mobile platform, amongst other things, so the new flagship Nokia devices should not be short on power.
If Nokia is able to offer competitive components and then bolt on a class leading camera that puts other smartphones to shame, then its new Windows Phone 8 models could be top sellers.
Of course, those who invested in early Windows Phone models from Nokia, like the Lumia 800, might want to sell their old phones in order to get some cash to help purchase the upcoming releases.
