Samsung's next flagship phone gets rumoured specs

Samsung has enjoyed three years of increasing success in the smartphone market, thanks to its Galaxy range, with the S-Series devices really making an impact.
In 2012, the Galaxy S3 has been one of the best selling handsets of all, even outpacing the iPhone 5 at certain points.
This means that any details about next year's Galaxy S4 are to be treated with interest, since this will likely define the shape of the market during 2013.
Although nothing official has been revealed about the Galaxy S4, reports from sources quoted by Slashgear, have outlined a number of anticipated features.
It seems almost certain that the S4 will use a quad core processor from Samsung's Exynos range, although recent rumours suggest that Samsung is working on an eight core chip, that could feature on future devices.
Meanwhile, the S4 will also have a 13 megapixel camera on the rear and might even sport a five inch touchscreen display, with a Super AMOLED panel and a full HD 1080p resolution.
This latter feature might mean that it will be encroaching on the market currently conquered by the Galaxy Note and it will, doubtlessly, make it one of the world's largest smartphones.
The Galaxy S4 could be on sale as early as next February, with a launch either during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas during January, or Barcelona's Mobile World Congress a month later.
Apple is also thought to be prepping an iPhone 5S for an early 2013 release, which means that it would be going head to head with the S4, in a competition that might indicate which range has become the more potent in terms of popularity.
Both Apple and Samsung have a lot of work to do if they are to exceed the quality of the devices launched in 2012.
