Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launched

After months of rumour-mongering and speculation, the Galaxy Note 3 has finally shrugged off its shroud of secrecy and stepped into the limelight, with an official unveiling enacted by Samsung at the IFA conference in Berlin this week.
In spite of rumours suggesting it would have a screen measuring six inches or more across the diagonal, the reality is a much more subdued update to a 5.7 inch panel, just outdoing the 5.5 inch screen of the Galaxy Note 2.
Of course, the display is not only a bit bigger, but also endowed with a significantly higher resolution, with 1080p HD making everything look much more crisp and clear.
The phone's design is consistent with Samsung's other recent releases, although the super-slim chassis and tiny bezel make it look like a definite evolution.
On the rear is a 13 megapixel camera and this can record Ultra HD 4K footage if you choose the model with the octa-core process. The Galaxy Note 3 comes in a trio of flavours and if you pick the quad core iteration, this kind of high res video capture is off the table.
All Galaxy Note 3 handsets come with 3GB of RAM, giving them 1GB more to play with than the Galaxy S4, which should make a difference when it comes to multitasking.
The S Pen stylus is back again and has been enhanced with a few new apps to play with, but it remains an inclusion that will only appeal to a small audience and might not bother the majority of Galaxy Note 3 buyers with its presence.
This phone is likely to be a big seller, following in the footsteps of its predecessors, but you will have to be prepared to pay quite a high price for the privilege of owning one.
