Nokia to launch Lumia 710 in January

Nokia will be courting the budget end of the mobile market with the Lumia 710 handset, which is now rumoured to launch on January 6th, according to Unwired View.
Since making the leap to the Windows Phone platform, Nokia has only released the high end Lumia 800 which boasts some impressive specifications but whose price could exclude many of the company's long time customers.
The Lumia 710 may be setting its sights on a more mainstream audience but because of Microsoft's minimum hardware requirements for Windows Phone 7, it will not be a slouch when you look at the component list.
A 3.7 inch display, five megapixel camera and the latest iteration of Windows Phone 7.5 are all present and correct. That means you can enjoy some of the deepest integration of Facebook and Twitter around, access to Xbox Live games and features, as well as multitasking to keep apps available as soon as you need them.
The Lumia 710 will be one of Nokia's only recent launches to have interchangeable covers, because the rear will be swappable so that you can personalise the look of your phone, making it colourful or businesslike whenever you feel the need.
The early January release date that is being reported sounds plausible, although it is a pity that Nokia could not get it out before Christmas in order to harness the power of the gift-buying masses.
Of course with the January sales, you might be able to bag the Lumia 710 at a bargain price. You can sell your old mobile phone to offset the cost of an upgrade and now might be a good time to trade in your Nokia 5800 Xpress Music in favour of a Windows Phone experience, which outdoes the Symbian operating system.
