Nokia still committed to Symbian as E6-00 pics emerge

Images showcasing the currently unannounced Nokia E6-00 have been published online, suggesting that the Finish manufacturing giant is still going to support the Symbian 3 platform, albeit in the form of business-focused smartphones.
The E6-00 has been snapped in a number of poses, giving fans a better look at its all-black external styling and its full QWERTY keypad stuck on the traditional candybar form factor, which has been a regular feature of the E-Series in the past.
The E6-00 looks to be a natural successor for the E72, although it will apparently feature the newer Symbian 3 platform, complete with user defined homescreens and improved multimedia functionality.
Little is known about the technical layout of the E6-00, although it will, allegedly, sport both a physical keypad and a touchscreen display with a resolution of 640x480, according to reports in My Nokia Blog.
Precisely what type of process the E6-00 will be packing also remains a mystery, although insiders are predicting it will be based on ARM architecture and presumably be roughly equivalent to that of the Nokia N8 or C7.
Because this is a phone aimed at enterprise users, it will have all the fast connectivity options you would expect, with the latest Wi-Fi and HSDPA networking likely to come as standard.
The E6-00 will be an interesting entry on the market from Nokia and potentially one which will sell well. This is because it could be the last business phone to use a variant of the Symbian platform, before the Microsoft deal relegates Symbian to relative obscurity.
As a result, many business users could be recycling their old E-Series handsets in order to pick up the E6-00 when it is eventually launched by Nokia in the next couple of months.
