Nokia X2 appears in leaked images

Information about the upcoming Nokia X2 mobile has emerged, suggesting that this entry level handset might well be making its way to the market in the near future.
Nokia has a long history of producing full QWERTY mobiles such as the E72 and the C3. The X2 looks to be a fairly budget handset that edges in on the market currently dominated by BlackBerry, which could win it some fans who do not want to shell out for Research in Motion's mobiles.
According to details unearthed by Unwired View, the Nokia X2 will have a small display, perhaps 2.4 inches across, supporting a native resolution of 320x240. It will also be compatible with microSD memory cards and come with an FM tuner onboard.
The one odd aspect of the X2's setup is that it will be completely bereft of contemporary connectivity options. That means you not only miss out on Wi-Fi but also 3G, leaving users to wrestle with sluggish 2G EDGE networks if they want to go online.
What will be welcome is the inclusion of a three megapixel camera which outclasses the two megapixel option bolted onto the C3. As such the Nokia X2 might well appeal to teens and young adults who like to text and take pictures, but are less interested in heading online with their mobile phones.
At the moment the Nokia C3 is targeted at the pay as you go market and given that the rumours surrounding the X2 suggest that it will be even lighter on features, it could be one of the cheapest full QWERTY handsets in the world.
This may not be of interest to people who want high end handsets with touchscreen interfaces and the latest operating systems, but Nokia's dominance of emerging markets could continue thanks to low cost mobiles like this.
