'NoDo' Windows Phone 7 update arrives in UK

UK users of Windows Phone 7 mobiles, like the Samsung Omnia 7 or HTC 7 Mozart, can start enjoying the second update to Microsoft's flagship platform this week.
The NoDo update is the first of its kind to really tweak and enhance Windows Phone 7, bringing with it copy and paste functionality, along with more under the hood tinkering, which should make apps boot up and resume much quicker than before.
Various other improvements are made with the update, including to the Wi-Fi connectivity and camera features. Further integration for Facebook is also being touted as a key asset of the so-called NoDo update.
At the moment it looks like only users who have an unlocked Windows Phone 7 handset will be able to benefit from the update, as it has become available via a download to PC through the Zune software.
People who have a Windows Phone 7 mobile which is associated with one of the UK's major network providers, will have to wait a little longer for approval to be given for the roll-out of the platform.
O2 and Vodafone are both promising to get the NoDo update out to customers as soon as possible, with the former even saying that it should be available in early April, which could give users just a week to wait.
At the time of writing, neither Three nor Everything Everywhere, which encompasses Orange and T-Mobile, had committed to setting a date for the Windows Phone 7 update's launch to their customers, but they would be foolish to hold off such a significant release for a prolonged period.
Microsoft will hopefully have worked out any issues for the second update, after the preliminary release of the preparatory software update was marred by reports of it causing problems for some.
