New Windows Phone 7 handsets debuted by Samsung

A pair of new smartphones based on the updated Windows Phone 7 operating system have been announced by South Korean manufacturer Samsung.
At the moment the firm only has the Omnia 7 on the market to support Microsoft's mobile OS but the Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash are destined for the US market before the end of the year.
The Focus S is a high end device which sports the same 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display that you will find on the Samsung Galaxy SII.
Onboard a 1.4GHz single core processor will make it one of the most powerful WP7 devices on the market and it will also be very thin, measuring just 8.55mm thick.
Its photography credentials will be relatively impressive, with an eight megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 1.3 megapixel snapper on the front to make video calling an option.
The Samsung Focus Flash is a little less technically impressive, although it sports the same 1.4GHz chip as the Focus S. Its 3.7 inch Super AMOLED display is smaller than its sibling, but it should still be a decent size for those who want something that is a little more portable.
The five megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera of the Focus Flash are adequate if not overwhelming, although it will make Windows Phone 7 a more viable option for those looking to buy a mid range mobile.
The Windows Phone 7 Mango build will be preinstalled on both of these phones, bringing better social networking support and multitasking capabilities to the table.
It is likely that a rebrand will occur before these smartphones reach the UK so they may fall into the Omnia family to keep things consistent with the existing Samsung WP7 model.
