New Samsung WP7 handset revealed

Samsung is set to continue its support for the Windows Phone 7 platform with the launch of a brand new smartphone called the Omnia W which will be arriving in the UK at some point next month.
The Omnia W will support the Mango update of Windows Phone 7 straight out of the box, giving users access to new features, such as multitasking and deeper integration for social networks like Twitter.
In terms of hardware, it will have a 3.7 inch Super AMOLED screen and will be powered by a 1.4GHz single core processor.
A five megapixel camera on the rear will be complimented by a secondary camera above the display for video calling. 8GB of storage space will be available and all the usual WP7 perks will be present, including Microsoft Office functionality and cloud data storage via SkyDrive.
Perhaps the best aspect of the Omnia W will be its price, which is expected to be around £350 according to TechRadar. This means that it will be able to compete on a level playing field with midrange WP7 mobiles like the HTC Radar, which is also set to make its debut in the run up to Christmas.
The Samsung Omnia W has the advantage of featuring a faster processor than HTC's new smartphone and its Super AMOLED display technology will make the screen more vibrant than most other WP7 phones.
Of course last year's Samsung Omnia 7 is still available and although its processor is clocked at only 1GHz, it does have a larger 4 inch Super AMOLED screen, which gives it a fraction more real estate than the new Omnia W.
A brushed metal rear plate and an all-black design keeps the Omnia W looking classy and in the premium category, just as Microsoft has intended for all Windows Phone 7 mobiles.
