New BlackBerry handsets emerge

The BlackBerry Curve Touch 9830 and an updated BlackBerry Bold have been snapped and put through their paces via BGR.
The Curve range has always been aimed at smartphone users on a budget and this seems to be consistent with this latest edition as it has a single core 800MHz processor which may look a little underpowered compared to top end mobiles, but should still do an admirable job on a more affordable device.
1GB of storage space will be present on the Curve Touch 9380 and, as its name suggests, the 3.25 inch display will be touch sensitive.
A five megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording is promised, while an integrated NFC (Near Field Communication) chip will endow it with mobile payment support similar to that found on the Google Nexus S.
The Bold 9790 is a little more powerful, with a 1.2GHz processor, but it retains the same five megapixel snapper and NFC capabilities.
Onboard, the 9790 has a deal more storage space than the Curve Touch, with 8GB of room for you to add media files, apps and other content as you see fit.
As you might expect both of these BlackBerry smartphones have full QWERTY keypads present to allow for precise, fast typing.
The touchscreen technology which is available on each model is a testament to the gradual evolution of the BlackBerry OS platform, which has finally become more finger-friendly and competitive in a market that has been dominated by dexterous rivals ever since the iPhone arrived in 2007.
At the moment, RIM has not given any official launch dates or price brackets for either of these smartphones, although with the Curve Touch having been on the cards for most of the year, it cannot be too far away from release.
