New BlackBerry 10 has a better browser than its rivals

The BlackBerry 10 operating system is going to launch at the end of next month, ushering in a new year for us all and a new era for struggling Canadian manufacturer, RIM.
BB 10 will feature on at least two handsets in the early part of 2013, both of which will help to push the BlackBerry range kicking and screaming into the modern era, with completely reworked software and hardware.
Now a test carried out using a pre-release version of BB 10, has shown that its web browser is particularly competent, as it managed to load many sites faster than the equivalent iOS 6 or Windows Phone 8 handset.
BB 10 can load and render websites faster than the Safari or Internet Explorer web browsers which come with both of these rival platforms, according to The Gadget Masters website.
It is worth noting that there is no test comparing BB 10 to how Android's browser performs, so it might still be outpaced by the very fastest devices running this platform.
However, neither iOS 6 nor Windows Phone 8 are seen as having particularly sluggish browsers, so it is impressive that BB 10 seems to be on track to outdo them in this area.
More and more details surrounding BB 10 have been leaking out ahead of its launch, including information about the voice controlled assistant service, which will mirror the functionality of the iPhone's Siri.
A revised homescreen, better integration for social networking and a messaging hub that pulls together many strands of communication, should help to give BB 10 a fighting chance in 2013.
As well as a touchscreen-only L-Series handset, there should be a more traditional BlackBerry supporting the platform at launch, with a full QWERTY keyboard appeasing business users.
