Mobile phone recycling offered by EE

Network provider EE has risen to prominence over the past year, thanks to its market-leading rollout of 4G connectivity in the UK, allowing customers to get online at superfast speeds from compatible smartphones.
Now it has announced the Recycle and Reward scheme, which is its in-house effort to encourage customers to part ways with their old handsets and get a bit of cash in return to help lower the cost of upgrading.
The good news is that you do not need to be an EE customer to use this programme, as it is accepting devices from a range of providers and manufacturers.
EE will value your phone free of charge and send it back to you if you do not believe that the price they have quoted is fair, so there is no risk involved in the process.
Of course, it is in EE's interest to get more people recycling their old phones, because this means that they are more likely to invest in a new 4G-ready handset that will work with its latest networking standard.
4G is still available in only a limited number of areas in the UK, but at the moment EE is still the provider with the most comprehensive levels of coverage, including most major towns and cities.
By the end of next year, all big network providers should have completed their 4G rollout initiatives, giving consumers more choice over which firm they use for their service.
4G phones have not been on sale in the UK for long, so the chances are that your older device is incompatible and will not be able to provide access to the faster connectivity that it affords.
You can sell your old mobile phone online and compare the prices offered by different recycling schemes to get the best deal.
