LG courts luxury market with third Prada mobile

LG is set to launch the Prada 3.0 smartphone at the start of next year, combining its hardware with the brand appeal of this luxury label for the third time, according to TechRadar.
It is now four years since the original LG Prada handset hit the market and this latest iteration is likely to retain the focus on style and power of its predecessors.
A few concept images have been released to hint at what the LG Prada 3.0 might look like, but the limited information suggests that it will feature a piano black finish, slim chassis and large touch screen display.
LG's recent launch line up suggests that the Prada 3.0 will run on Android and if it wants to remain competitive it should incorporate a dual core processor, although with quad core handsets on the horizon, it could well double its core count once more.
LG spokesperson, Jong-seok Park, said that the company had proven its ability to recreate the elegance and luxury associated with the Prada brand in the past and was ready to repeat this trick with the third Prada mobile.
LG has a history of appealing to the fashion conscious with its mobiles, releasing handsets in conjunction with the backing of iconic celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria in past years.
However, these models have not always had the most technologically advanced innards, instead focusing on an appealing exterior design.
You could extrapolate from this that the LG Prada 3.0 might be more of a mid range handset when it comes to components. Of course with even the more affordable models packing a powerful punch on the modern market this should not be a major issue and the entry barrier for becoming a smartphone is getting easier to vault at a lower price point.
