January launch rumoured for Nokia E7

Nokia might be bringing the E7 to the UK within a month, as the latest reports suggest that this business-oriented smartphone is close to arrival.
The US site of the online retailer Amazon, has put a preliminary price of around £500 on the Nokia E7, which would seem appropriate for this high end handset, although it is likely to reduce with store discounts and network-funded subsidies.
The Nokia E7 is set to have a four inch AMOLED display, a slide-out full QWERTY keypad and an eight megapixel camera with HD video capture capabilities. Like the Nokia N8, it will have an HDMI output so that users can easily watch their captured clips on an HDTV.
If the Nokia E7 does hit the market costing £500 then it will be competing with everything from the Google Nexus S to the Apple iPhone 4, something which Nokia has definitely shied away from in recent months by putting the Nokia N8 at a lower price point.
The Nokia E7 will use the same Symbian 3 operating system as the N8 and C7 although this may be seen as something of a hindrance, since mixed critical response to this platform has led to questions over whether the Finnish firm is able to compete with the likes of Android or iOS on a meaningful level.
The Nokia E7 is allegedly arriving in the US on January 13th according to TheNokiaBlog and if this is true, then UK consumers will not have to wait long for a similar arrival. Business users who want to ditch their BlackBerry handsets or are worried about the security of the iPhone, might well opt for this mobile, although Nokia definitely has a fight on its hands when it comes to clawing back market share.
