HTC Evo 3D destined for Europe launch

French consumers can rejoice at the news that HTC is launching its Evo 3D smartphone in their country, dispelling the claims that it was going to be made available only in the US.
Many are assuming that a launch in France will be followed by a subsequent UK release for the HTC Evo 3D, which would certainly be desirable given its impressive specifications.
Like the LG Opitmus 3D it will have a 4.3 inch display that is capable of displaying stereoscopic images without the need for separate glasses. Where it outpaces its rival is in the inclusion of a 1.2GHz dual core processor, which should give it the extra performance boost necessary to help it lead the market.
3D video recording in 720p HD will be made possible thanks to its twin set of cameras on the rear and it will up this resolution to 1080p when you shoot clips in standard 2D mode.
Another area in which the HTC Evo 3D will outpace its immediate rival is software, as Android 2.3 is preinstalled along with the latest and greatest version of the Sense user interface, which has won plaudits from critics over the years.
The European launch of the Evo 3D was made public via Twitter and the French arm of the Taiwanese manufacturer used a tweet to confirm that it would retain its US nametag on arriving in France.
There is currently no official word on the pricing or launch date of the HTC Evo 3D and UK consumers are still having to wait and see whether it will actually make it over here, but with a French launch on the cards, this eventual migration seems inevitable. Hopefully, the first wave of 3D smartphones will not be dismissed as overpriced gimmicks.
