HTC is continuing to grow its reputation as an audio-focused smartphone manufacturer with the Butterfly S, which has appeared on camera, complete with high end playback technology onboard.
The snaps published by VR-Zone, reveal that the phone will feature a five inch full HD display, as well as the latest version of Android and the Sense interface.
But arguably the most interesting feature, is the presence of BoomSound, which is something that HTC has been gradually integrating into its high end handsets over the past few months.
The HTC One features BoomSound and the Butterfly S will also have this onboard, basically allowing it to create a more engaging and bass-oriented audio experience.
Although HTC has yet to officially announce the Butterfly S, it is expected to make its debut in the next few weeks and is likely to sport a quad core processor, to round off its impressive specifications list.
In fact, HTC has booked in a media briefing on June 19th at which the Butterfly S could well make its first appearance.
It will be interesting to see where the Butterfly S sits in the current market, because it features a bigger screen than the flagship One and could challenge the Galaxy S4 from Samsung, which also has a five inch screen.
The design of the phone looks a lot more traditional than that of the One, since it uses a rubberised back rather than an aluminium chassis. This could mean that it is thicker and heavier than its stable mate, if not necessarily more affordable.
HTC's Blink Feed service within Sense seems to be present and correct, so users can expect to be aggregating their content with ease if they decide to upgrade to the Butterfly S, once it is made available.
