Employment drive hints at iPhone 5's imminent production

Rumours suggest that Chinese manufacturer, Foxconn, which has worked on many of Apple's recent tech hits, is looking to quickly acquire 20,000 new employees to help build the as yet unannounced iPhone 5.
Foxconn has been under serious scrutiny for a few years now due to complaints over working conditions and a spate of suicides. At the moment it is being hampered by strikes carried out by the workers, which is why it is looking to draw in replacements and increase its workforce significantly, to help cope with the inevitably high demand for Apple's next iPhone handset.
So far very little is known about the technical side of the iPhone 5, which is technically the sixth iteration of Apple's mobile range, since the iPhone 4S was the fifth when it launched towards the end of 2011.
It is anticipated that the iPhone 5 will be significantly different from any of its predecessors, following in the footsteps of 2010's iPhone 4, by revolutionising the hardware in some way.
Many fans are hoping that the iPhone 5 will get a bigger screen, because although the Retina Display on the iPhone 4 and 4S is packing a high resolution, its 3.5 inch diagonal size is small by modern standards. Impending rivals, like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X, will almost certainly have screens measuring around 4.7 inches, which will put pressure on Apple to up its game.
The release date of the iPhone 5 is expected to be towards the end of 2012, after it revised its original summer launch window last year, due to delays in the manufacturing process.
The fact that Foxconn is preparing for the mammoth task of pumping out millions of iPhone 5s right now, suggests that Apple is not far from finalising its designs.
