Details on recycled Galaxy Note 7 emerge

After recalling millions of Galaxy Note 7 handsets last year due to dangerous battery faults, Samsung recently revealed that it would be recycling these devices and reselling them in a new guise, rather than simply dumping them altogether.
This news was greeted positively by many, although there were concerns about whether or not the manufacturer would be able to overcome the bad publicity associated with the handset.
Now images which apparently show the first of the refurbished handsets being prepared for re-release have appeared online courtesy of Android Central, with all signs indicating that Vietnam could well be the first country in which the devices make an appearance.
Samsung has not changed the design or feature set of the phone much from its original incarnation, although the most significant alteration is the one which will matter most to consumers; the battery is smaller and presumably built in such a way as to minimise the risks of combustion.
The original Note 7 had a 3500mAh cell, but the restored versions which have been recycled come with a 3200mAh battery. Hopefully, it will not overheat or explode while charging, although whether the battery life will suffer as a result is something that buyers will need to keep in mind.
Samsung has also taken the sensible decision to install the latest version of Android on the re-imagined Note 7, keeping it up to date and ensuring that there are a number of legitimate selling points.
In terms of naming and pricing, it is expected that these phones will step away from competing with the Note range, avoiding the negative connotations that this moniker now brings with it. Meanwhile, the new Galaxy S8 is intended to restore the firm’s reputation in its own way, while its eco credentials are bolstered by this re-release.
