Apple secedes from anti-iPhone hacking stance

It seems that those who choose to hack, or 'jailbreak', their iPhones will no longer be penalised by manufacturer Apple for unlocking the particularly locked-down iOS operating system.
This revelation has been made after it was found that the latest update, which brings iOS up to version 4.2, will not include the capability to detect whether or not the software has been manipulated. In short, this makes jailbreaking an iPhone perfectly acceptable and undetectable by the powers that be.
Apple has allegedly banned the iTunes accounts of iPhone owners who hacked into their phones using widely available software tools, but that was all put in the past when authorities in the US ruled that modification of the software was the legal right of the owner and it is thus unreasonable for Apple to take punitive measures against those who crack its strict platform.
The particular piece of the iOS software which has been lobotomised to essentially decriminalise jailbreaking may have been completely removed or put into hibernation. Apple has yet to make a comment on this story and may well continue to keep quiet to avoid increasing the publicity and alerting more of its customers to the legitimacy of iPhone hacking.
The one problem with eradicating the ability to detect the difference between stock and hacked iPhones is that those who use them for business could put the IT systems of their employer at risk, if managers are unable to check for compromised devices with dodgy, illicit files onboard.
There are some who believe that the jailbreaking detection capabilities of iOS have been temporarily put out of action, rather than permanently removed and until Apple comes out with a statement, it will be difficult to judge just how this story will play out over the coming weeks.
